Subject: The Real Extremism Is What’s Being Allowed in Our Schools

Dear Superintendent Ayres and Members of the Hillsborough County School Board,

There’s been a lot of rhetoric about so-called “extreme attacks” on public schools. But the real concern isn’t parents—it’s the continued defense of sexually explicit books under the label of “literary value.” Children in Hillsborough County are being exposed to graphic, age-inappropriate content that would be flagged on social media and is too explicit to be read aloud at a board meeting. If it's not appropriate to share publicly, it doesn’t belong in our schools.

By allowing sexually explicit, developmentally inappropriate materials into our schools, both the board and superintendent risk failing to meet statutory obligations. Upholding these laws is not optional—it is your duty.

This is not about banning books or silencing diverse voices. It's about protecting students from material that erodes innocence and distracts from real learning. Schools are being dismantled from within when harmful content is prioritized over academic growth.

Addressing this content is not a distraction—it’s your responsibility. A true investment in education means setting standards that nurture development, not normalize sexual behavior. I urge you to act now: remove inappropriate materials immediately to restore common sense values.
