After last week’s Martin Luther King, Jr Day and reflecting upon his desires for our country, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character” I feel compelled to address the BLM advocacy in our county. Dr. King specifically asked not to judge people by their skin color which is in direct opposition to what Black Lives Matters encourages. This should be disheartening to everyone in our community especially elected officials who are looked upon as leaders. Based on the facts below our community should be focusing to restore the family unit by encouraging marriage, discouraging teenage pregnancy, promoting education (increase high school graduation rates), and discourage use of all drugs. How is promoting BLM going to achieve any of these goals?.....
