Summary:

The Privacy Amendment was adopted in 1980 by Floridians in order to protect themselves from the government’s increasing ability to gather personal information through increasingly modern investigative technologies. However, in 1989 it was twisted by the Florida Supreme Court to create a fundamental right to abortion for a minor girl.  Since that time, Florida’s Privacy Amendment has been seen as a right to abortion and not as a right to informational privacy.
